The women’s race at the 2023 World Triathlon Olympic Games Test Event Paris was exciting as France was in the running for winning. (See my previous post explaining what the “test event” is)
In the end it was close but Cassandre Beaugrand came in second to Beth Potter of Great Britain. Their times were super close!
Beth Potter – 1:51:40 vs. Cassandre Beaugrand – 1:51:46!
When the two top triathletes passed by my station on the running portion they were matching each other step for step as you can see from the photos.

Running is the final component of the triathlon so they were almost at the end. There are 4 laps in the race. The photos of the two top finishers are from the 3rd lap (2nd to last).
The Americans were close behind getting 5th, 10th and 12th place.
Taylor Knibb was 5th with 01:52:04
Taylor Spivey was 10th with 01:52:46
Katie Zaferes was 12th with 01:52:57

Taylor Knibb was out in front for the whole (possibly all) of the bike component but according to reports fell back when she lost time in the transition from bike to running.
