Even though we have absolutely no connection to fashion, nor know anyone in fashion, the fact that it was fashion week in Paris was hard to miss. In Central Paris, there were white tents throughout the city set up for runway shows. There were tents near the Louvre and in the Jardin des Tuileries. There were tall skinny women wandering around (perhaps they are always wandering around and we just hadn’t noticed?).
We even happened to run see a fashion show as we wandered about the city center during the 3rd annual car-free day. We saw part of the L’Oréal Paris fashion show which transformed the Champs-Élysées into a giant runway with the public invited. There was a huge white tent over the runway running lengthwise down the Champs-Élysées and models walked with the Arc de Triomphe in the background (and huge crowds everywhere).
Inspired, we signed up for a “fashion show” at the Galleries Lafayette for next week. Check back to see our report!
