Fille competed in a regatta yesterday at the Fontainebleau Castle.  It was cold (approximately freezing), with intermittent rain and hail.  However, the location was amazing.  The regatta took place at “le Grand Canal” which is a water feature in the extensive gardens of Fontainebleau.

It was actually an “Avrionathalon” since after the rowing part there was a bike/race and then an erg relay.

Afterwards, there was a complementary hot lunch in the warm(ish) tents.

Here are some photos for comparison of what Fontainebleau Castle and the grounds look like in better weather.  If you are considering going, Fontainebleau is very easy to get to from Paris by metro/train then bus. I have first-hand knowledge, since there wasn’t room for me with the athletes on their transport and that’s how I got there!
