Hey, I didn’t want to go to an Italian restaurant in Paris. But it was highly recommended (by mon mari). I have to admit it was a good choice!
Cucucina is a super small super friendly restaurant with really good food. It hasn’t been around for long (maybe about 5 months so it isn’t that well known).
Sometimes in restaurants, I find that the appetizers (antipasti in this case) are better than the main course (plati). But for Cucucina both were great.
We had the octopus salad as a starter (pulpo). It was substantial and very good. It had big chunks of octopus as well as tentacles and lots of diced carrots.
We also had the burrata as a starter with an zucchini puree. Also very good.
For our main course, I had the eggplant parmigiana. Very tender and tasty. It was my favorite!
However, the hit of the evening was the special, a seafood tagliatelle.
The atmosphere is very pleasant, the tables well laid out and the service on point. The interior is very pleasant and not noisy. There is also an smallish outdoor area. Highly recommended if you are in Batignolles (the 17th).
UPDATE (October 3 2018) – Restaurant is closed. I don’t know if it will be reopening.
